Love Dance/Home Security Screening Feb 17

Join us for a night of sexy and scary shorts from Indie filmmakers with not one but two music performances at the Historic Irving Theater, Friday, February 17 at 7pm.

Tickets are $7 at the door for 7 short films (listed below), performances by Joe Reeves and Lowdown.

DVD’s of Love Dance, Home Security, Leah Not Leia, Karmic Courage Short Film Collection and The Collective V1 & V2 will be available for purchase.

Ticket sales go toward film festival submissions for Love Dance and Home Security.

• Love Dance – A sexy comedy about a married couple who wanders into an adult store and might have gotten a little more than they bargained for. Written by Terry Shepard. Directed by Kate Chaplin. Stars: Rachel Illingworth, Joshua C. Ramsey and Eric T. Schroeder.

• Leah Not Leia – A dark comedy about a baby girl born during the STAR WARS boom in 1977 who shares a similar name to a certain Jedi Princess that wasn’t allowed to wear underwear. • Ready to Settle – After too many weird blind dates a young lawyer decides if she is ready to settle. Directed by Valerie Pierce. Stars: Andi Wilson and Cassandra Schomer.
• Domestic Disturbing – a dark comedy by Gary Weeks.

“Home Security” a new project from Karmic Courage

“Home Security” is a short film written and directed by Kate Chaplin. The film was created for The Collective V3 featuring all female directors.

Home Security is the story of a crooked security salesman who is prepping for a big score. The film features Emmanuel Carter as “Robert” and L.E. Bradford as “Mia.” It’s got a nice twist and a little Tales for the Crypt or Twilight Zone feel to it.

The DVD will be available in March on The Collective V3 featuring 10 short films by 10 female directors.

Production Updates

Karmic Courage is growing and growing.

We are currently sending and exhibiting “Leah Not Leia” in film festivals and conventions nationwide. We are working on a DVD and internet release for this winter.

“Love Dance” is in post production. A rough cut will be ready to view this week.

Next up is a short Horror film for “The Collective V3.” The Collective is a project of 10 short films by 10 filmmakers. Volume 3 is the all female filmmaker edition. Kate Chaplin will be directing. Production is slated for November, 2011.

Next Summer is slated for the first feature film production from Karmic Courage entitled “Ingenue.” Casting and interviews will begin in the spring.

JUST IN: Kate Chaplin is set to direct and co-produce a web-series with an all female creative team. The project is currently in development and going to be flippin’ genius!

That’s a Wrap on Love Dance!!!

October 1-2 was the amazing production days for Kate Chaplin’s new short film Love Dance. Written by Terry Shepard and staring Rachel Illingworth and Joshua Ramsey, the short film follows a married couple who gets a little more than they bargained for when buying an adult gift.

The entire cast and crew was top notch, a true dream-team. Production finished early each day, ended under budget, and got some of the most creative shots you’ll see in a comedy.
